STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - In a stunning shakeup, Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and school president Graham Spanier were fired Wednesday night by the board of trustees amid the growing furor over how the school handled child-sex-abuse allegations against a former assistant coach. Lola Rakes says a correctional officer sexually abused her every single day during her incarceration at the Anthony Center, a prison in Greenbrier County for young offenders. The man's advances started with a kiss on the neck and assurances that he could make her prison stay easier, she said. Eventually, the officer began forcing Rakes to have sex with him, she said, and threatened to have her transfered to a higher-security prison if she told anyone.
