WASHINGTON -- Patrick Ewing didn't do it. Nor did Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Bernard King, Allan Houston -- any of the premier scorers in Knicks history.
Forty-eight years ago, Willie Naulls set a franchise record that Amar'e Stoudemire can match tonight when the Knicks face the Wizards: seven straight games with at least 30 points.

Lou Reed, one of rock 'n' roll's true geniuses, whether you like it or not, spent all day Friday in Long Beach.
He woke up for an 8 o'clock breakfast, went to Cal State Long Beach's University Art Museum to do some last-minute sound-checking for the opening of his exhibit, "Metal Machine Trio: The Creation of the Universe," before hopping over to the Carpenter Center, where he would appear in conversation with record producer Bob Ezrin in a $45- per-ticket event, then an appearance at Fingerprints CDs on Fourth Street, where he autographed copies of his new album, "Lulu," and his new book, a reworking of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven," then back to the campus for the exhibit opening followed by his Carpenter Center show, followed by another jaunt back to the exhibit.
