Hayes Middle School in St. Albans closed early Wednesday because the facility had no water, according to officials from the state Department of Education.
A spokeswoman from the Kanawha County school's superintendent's office said the maintenance department informed her the school would be open today.

St. Albans High school boys soccer Coach Zach Viglianco may be young for his position but in the wake of a second on-field problem involving some of his players this season he has stepped up. Weve had to do some disciplining, Viglianco, 22, said. Weve removed one kid and suspended a couple of others. Several incidents in an early season game against Huntington resulted in the Highlanders coach pulling his team from the field before the game ended. There was never any blame assigned in that situation, as players from both sides were involved, according to Viglianco.
