Jihad in Islam, from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, is of two types: jihad initiated by the Muslims, which means raiding the world in order to spread the word that 'there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah' throughout the world. By Allah, if not for the resolute stand and the resistance of our people in Iraq, the entire region would have fallen, and would have turned into warring and feuding cantons and mini-states, ravaged by wars between different ethnic groups and religious schools of thought.

S. and Iraqi forces killed two al Qaeda leaders this week in what U.S. officials described as a significant blow to the terrorist organization and promptly hailed as an Iraqi success story.
Abu Ayyub al-Masri, the military leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, and Abu Umar al-Baghdadi, head of the Islamic State of Iraq, were killed early Sunday in operations west of Tikrit, the hometown of the deposed dictator Saddam Hussein.

BAGHDAD -- The U.S. and Iraq claimed a major victory against al- Qaida on Monday, saying their forces killed the terror group's two top figures in this country in an air and ground assault on their safehouse near Saddam Hussein's hometown.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced the killings of Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri at a news conference and showed photographs of their bloody corpses. U.S. military officials later confirmed the deaths, which Vice President Joe Biden called a "potentially devastating blow" to al-Qaida in Iraq.

BAGHDAD -- The self-described leader of an al-Qaida front group issued a new audio tape this weekend, deepening the mystery surrounding the identity of the insurgent leader whom the Iraqi government claims to have in custody and whose very existence the U.S. once questioned.
The man purporting to be Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the head of the Islamic State of Iraq, issued the usual litany of militant rhetoric against the West in the 40-minute tape that was posted Saturday on militant Web sites.

DEARBORN - Saddam Hussein's sentence "to be hanged until he is dead for crimes against humanity" was met with tears of relief by some in Dearborn's Iraqi community. Dozens of young Iraqi Americans poured into the streets in a spontaneous celebration.
I have the right to be happy about the sentence," loudly added Abu Ali Al Baghdadi, a former member of the movement to resist Saddam. Three of Al Baghdadi's brothers-in-law, as well as his own brother, were killed by Saddam's agents.
"Of course I was afraid," said [Hameed Al Ziadi], still wincing. "They just told me to come get my brother's body from the prison; he had been executed. So I went. When I got there I was given a number and told to search for my brother who was marked on his neck. His body lay in a pile of over 400 bodies with ...

CAIRO - The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility in a video posted on the Internet Sunday for the attempted car bomb attack in New York City's Times Square, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.
In the 1-minute, 11-second video allegedly released by the Pakistani Taliban, the militant group says the attack was revenge for the death of its leader, Baitullah Mehsud, and the recent slaying of al-Qaida in Iraq leaders Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who were killed by U.S. and Iraqi troops last month north of Baghdad.
