The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to amend its energy conservation standards for several classes of commercial heating, air-conditioning, and water-heating equipment. Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program received $10,000 in new equipment from the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute to aid in training students last month, said Whit Perry, lead instructor of the program. Northwest is accredited by the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating Refrigeration Accreditation. PAHRA is an independent, third- party organization that is a partnership between heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration educators and the HVACR industry that will award accreditation to programs that have met and/or exceeded industry validated standards.
