FAIR LAWN -- A man who police say broke into at least three cars in the borough and neighboring towns was in custody Monday, charged with burglary and aggravated assault on a police officer, authorities said.
Jose N. Lopez, 33, of Paterson was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of theft of movable property, one count of hindering apprehension or prosecution, one count of possession of burglar's tools and one count of aggravated assault on a police officer for attempting to ram an officer's car with a stolen vehicle.

LANCASTER TWP.: Martwon D. Johnson, 18, of East End Avenue, was arrested at 11:51 a.m. on Saturday at a garage at 750 Fairview Ave. and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, Manheim Township police said.

HACKENSACK -- A city man allegedly attacked a Bergen County sheriff's officer who was trying to serve court papers at a boardinghouse, authorities said Monday.
Conrad Anderson, 53, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of a weapon. He was being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack on Monday with bail set at $25,000.
