On the down side, he can't "turn it off," and he is being driven to the brink of madness by the horror he's forced to witness. Eckhart's character is dull and one-dimensional. Carrie Anne Moss turns up as a fellow agent and former love, but that story line goes nowhere. Much of the film's look is lifted directly from Seven, but virtually none of that picture's cleverness. And the whole agent-mind-melding-with-the-bad-guy thing is taken straight out of the novels of Thomas Harr...
