RANCHO CUCAMONGA - After a change in its agenda format and a study session with the public, the Cucamonga Board of Education hopes it has closed the book on its problems with open-government laws.
The Cucamonga School District board, which recently had its hand slapped for not cooperating with the Brown Act, has worked closely with its legal counsel to cure the possible violations of the law. The Brown Act is a state law that ensures elected bodies deliberate and take certain actions in public.

The Department of Defense (DoD) is publishing this semiannual agenda of regulatory documents, including those that are procurement- related, for public information and comments under Executive Order 12866, ``Regulatory Planning and Review.'' This agenda incorporates the objective and criteria, when applicable, of the regulatory reform program under the Executive Order and other regulatory guidance. It contains DoD issuances initiated by DoD components that may have economic and environmental impact on State, local, or tribal interests under the criteria of Executive Order 12866. Although most DoD issuances listed in the agenda are of negligible public impact, their nature may be of public interest and, therefore, are published to provide notice of rulemaking and an opportunity for publi...

NEW ORLEANS - Despite the likelihood of a split national championship, BCS coordinator Mike Tranghese said Saturday a playoff system for college football won't even be discussed among proposed changes for next season.
We're engaged in almost weekly discussions on the next BCS model, but a playoff is not one of the items we're discussing," he told The Associated Press. "And it won't be when we sit down four months from now.

This agenda announces the proposed regulatory actions that GSA plans for the next 12 months and those that were completed since the spring 2011 edition. This agenda was developed under the guidelines of Executive Order 12866 ``Regulatory Planning and Review.'' GSA's purpose in publishing this agenda is to allow interested persons an opportunity to participate in the rulemaking process. GSA also invites interested persons to recommend existing significant regulations for review to determine whether they should be modified or eliminated. Proposed rules may be reviewed in their entirety at the Government's rulemaking Web site at www.regulations.gov. Since the fall 2007 edition, the Internet has been the basic means for disseminating the Unified Agenda. The complete Unified Agenda will be a...

When he arrived at THQ in 1991, the company only worked in licensing, but today, his 2,000 employees put the company's fate in its own hands, creating innovative games from its own studios "Look at the music industry," he says. Here are the issues we have to face and, look, if I could wave a magic wand and fix the problem I would, but it's more about, 'Hey guys, here's the problem and here's how we have to address the problem, and like most things in life, there are no easy answers; let's be thoughtful.' Beyond widespread travel, Farrell uses a basic format to get feedback on the company's direction: an agenda-free brown bag lunch. [...] it was good feedback, and it created a good dialogue, but I got back to the guy and said, `Here's the feedback I got.\n When THQ released UFC 2009 Un...

EATON -- Her first novel, "Legal Larceny," dealt with malpractice and medicine. Now Eaton physician and author Jill Vosler has entered the arena of universal health care with her second book, "Deadly Denial.
I think the most exciting thing about 'Deadly Denial' is that it is so timely," Vosler said. "The book was started two years ago, and this topic wasn't the one on everybody's agenda. I feel I've discussed all sides of the issue thoroughly, hopefully in a format that makes the discussion interesting and intriguing."

This "stand-up" meeting now typically lasts less than ten minutes. The agenda is very straightforward. First, the lead operator runs down the jobs that he expects to print that day, and where he expects each of those jobs to be in terms of printing, bindery, and/or other operations by the end of the day. He then reports on all of the jobs that have carried over from previous days.

Of course, the first event on my agenda for the Fall is Print 09, one of the four international graphic arts trade shows. It's paired with drupa, IPEX, and China Print on the other years. And while the majority of the exhibitors will not be focusing on the wide-format digital inkjet markets, there are quite a few - in the Wide-Format Pavilion and throughout the show floor - that will be releasing new products for the graphic arts market.
