FAIR LAWN Several employees of a Maple Avenue packaging company were being evaluated at hospitals Wednesday after becoming ill from paint fumes in a company warehouse. A female employee complained of dizziness, nausea and trouble breathing shortly after the company, Sonoco Corrflex, began using an off-the-shelf aerosol product to paint parking lines on a warehouse floor around 9:45 a.m., facility manager Robert Fix said.
ORONO Hidden from the view of passers-by on Main Street Tuesday morning, Ryan Guerrero shook up an aerosol can with paint-covered hands and went to work next to Verve, a burrito bar. The 26-year-old Utica, N.Y., native is spray painting the town on four sheets of plywood.
C. 2935.21, which prohibits “obtaining, possessing, or using, a harmful intoxicant, with purpose to induce intoxication or similar physiological effects,” is not unconstitutionally vague or overbroad when applied to the use, or possession with intent to use, of an aerosol paint spray to induce intoxication. Conviction for Abusing Harmful Intoxicants is supported by the evidence and is not against the manifest weight of the evidence. Record fails to portray ineffective assistance of trial counsel. Record does not establish that there were uncalled witnesses whose testimony would have helped defendant. Decision not to have defendant testify was a matter of trial strategy, especially where calling the defendant to testify would have permitted the State to present additional prejudici...

Instead, the former painter became known for a dematerialized form of language art, composing and exhibiting off-kilter aphorisms that evoke equal parts philosophical proposition, Zen koan, and instruction manual, often referring to physical spaces or mental states. Like his proto-conceptual paintings from 1968, One Pint Gloss White Lacquer Poured Directly Upon the Floor and Allowed to Dry and Two Minutes of Spray Paint Directly Upon the Floor From a Standard Aerosol Can, the titles of the works become generators, as if the artist were merely a computer executing a program.
A Highland market clerk was cited Thursday for selling an aerosol can to youngsters. It is a misdemeanor to sell an aerosol container of paint to minors who could use it to tag property.
Inhalants are common household products such as shoe polish, glue, aerosol air fresheners, hair sprays, nail polish, paint solvents, degreasers, gasoline or lighter fluids. Youngsters intentionally inhale these substances to get high. Some suffer "Sudden Sniffing Death" and others become addicted to inhalants. Stephen J. Pasierb, President and CEO, Partnership for a Drug Free America, introduced a public service announcement designed to alert parents and teens to the dangers of huffing. 'Today's young teens didn't benefit from the public-education campaigns and community outreach of the 1990s," he said. This new generation of parents needs our help to prevent this dangerous behavior. The 15th National Inhalants and Poisons Week is March 18 through 25. National Inhalants Prevention Coal...
WATERLOO, Iowa - Paco is down to his last prophet. He stands on a 6 1/2-foot scaffold surveying the image of Joel, and the few unpainted blotches left on a 2,511-square-foot ceiling. He pulls a paint-spray respirator over his goatee and shakes an aerosol can, the metal ball inside rattling noisily. He leans back and begins to spray brown paint - pfft, pfft, pfft - in quick strokes of his left hand on the plaster ceiling.
