Bell Helicopter, the world's leading helicopter manufacturer and a subsidiary of Providence, R.I.-based Textron Inc., has acquired Acadian Composites, the structural composite panel repair business of Lafayette-based Petroleum Helicopters Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed although company officials indicated Acadian Composites would remain in Lafayette.
Textron Inc. has more than 43,000 employees in nearly 40 countries and had 2003 revenues of nearly $10 billion. Acadian Composites will become part of Aeronautical Accessories Inc., a Bell Helicopter division that services helicopter operators worldwide.
