One hospital, a member of the Advocate system, just sued a patient earning $20,000 a year for $177,000, according to Service Employees union records. Hospital officials ignore their obligation to tell families about Advocate's charity program, and then go after them in court, trying to get judgments that will attach liens to their homes, a union researcher found. CHICAGO - A man suspected of opening fire in a Chicago home Wednesday allegedly killed his wife, infant son and two other young relatives and later told police he heard voices telling him to kill family members, a person close to the investigation told The Associated Press. The man also told police Allah told him to kill his family and that he was sorry he had run out of bullets, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the investigation. CHICAGO, March 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Signaling an internal revolt within the religious institutions that control Advocate Bethany Hospital, members of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) spoke out Friday against the controversial proposal to close major services at the West Side facility.
