Looking for a bucket-list destination, my wife and I decided to escape the Utah winter and head Down Under for two weeks. Between the library and Internet, we had ample resources to plan our trip, which we began planning a year before our departure. Kelly Wells wanted an adventure. She'd read about adventures in books, seen quests on TV. She'd played the intrepid explorer often enough in video games. But in real life she was 30 years old, living in Monmouth, working a seasonal job at L.L. Bean.
AUBURN -- Greg Merritt and Jason Parker biked from one L-A to the other in 49 days. Merritt, 21, is an Edward Little grad from the class of 2008 and a senior at Colby College. Parker, 22, graduated from St. Dom's in 2007 and the University of Vermont in May. They left home June 1. Both Merritt and Parker blogged about their adventure.
