  • SMITHVILLE -- Members of the Wayne County Schools Career Center Business Professionals of America adopted a family for Christmas, sponsored by the Orrville Salvation Army. After the students heard a presentation about the increased need and services provided from Pinkie Nicholson of the Orrville Salvation Army Executive Board, this year the Medical Office Management and Business Marketing Technologies classes adopted two families.

  • With the holidays fast approaching, CARE AT CHRISTMAS, a holiday program for homeless Chino Valley Unified School District students and their families, is seeking unwrapped gifts and community members to adopt families over the holidays. The youths receiving a little Christmas boost are part of CVUSD's Children's Academic Recovery Education (CARE) program. Each year, the staff creates the Santa Store, which is set up in the district boardroom at the district offices and on Dec. 15.
