The Administrative Board of the Courts will regularly seek public comment on a broad range of proposed court rules and amendments under its consideration, Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti announced Tuesday. The board, which consists of the chief judge and the four presiding justices of the Appellate Division, meets several times a year to consider and adopt rules and policies governing the courts and the legal profession in New York. In the past, requests for public comment generally have been limited to specific rule changes having a significant impact on the administration of justice.

An employer could not enforce a social networking rule requiring employees to get permission before commenting on work-related legal matters, a National Labor Relations Board administrative judge has ruled. The employer is a company that provides security services to various clients throughout the country, including the mass transit system for Tempe, Ariz. The company's employee handbook includes a social networking policy that provides that security officers shall "not comment on work-related legal matters without express permission of the [company's] Legal Department.
