The trial court erred in refusing to award prejudgment interest on an account. The trial court is required to award prejudgment interest under R.C. 1343.03(A), but has discretion to decide when the account became due and payable and what rate of interest shall apply. Reversed and Remanded.
JEFFERSON CITY -- For a fundraiser at Summit Winery last week, lobbyists were invited to make donations payable either to House Majority Leader Tim Jones' account or to the House Republican Campaign Committee. Jones reported $11,500 in donations larger than $500 received on the day of the event, but no complete totals will be available until July 15. Jones had reported raising $72,034 on his most recent report, due April 15, leading all House members. Jones, R-Eureka, said it is his job as floor leader to raise money to perpetuate the party's majority.
BAKER -- Stacie Lynn, 29, of Strong, died at Farmington, May 17. Family and friends are invited to a memorial celebration of her life on Thursday, May 26, at 1 p.m. from the funeral home.
