A Kansas woman settled with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for $25,000 after she was injured while riding one of its buses.
Lakeisha Young was a passenger on a KCATA bus on April 29, 2009, when the bus was involved in an accident in Kansas City, Kan. According to the lawsuit, filed in July 2010, the bus was merging into another lane when it collided with a small truck.

After claiming he suffered a soft-tissue injury in his back, a Boone County man received nearly $500,000 in all from multiple settlements, including $401,000 from two auto insurance companies he sued.
The settlements stemmed from an auto accident in Boone County. As an employee for Koonse Glass, Robert Smith was driving his employer's delivery truck in May 2004 when another vehicle driven by Randall Betts crossed the center line and struck the truck head-on, according to a lawsuit filed by Smith and his wife, Deborah.
