At the beginning of "Abduction," Taylor Lautner lies on the hood of a truck as it speeds along a Pennsylvania highway. When the vehicle slows as it approaches a party of teenagers, the young actor was supposed to simply hop off. Instead, he somersaults forward. The film's director, John Singleton, was taken aback by the stunt. After all, you don't put your young star and teen idol at risk.

BLOOMINGTON - A Bloomington grandmother is being credited with taking quick action Wednesday to rescue her 4-year-old grandson from a stranger who grabbed him and ran. Police arrested a Bloomington woman after the incident that reportedly happened in the 300 block of Dreamwold Street. Later Wednesday police said she now also is a suspect in another alleged abduction attempt on Tuesday.
More than 100 law enforcement officers from throughout Bergen County took part Friday in the first-ever field exercise designed to test how authorities coordinate their response to child abduction cases. Abduction" (PG-13): Teen fans of Taylor Lautner's conflicted werewolf Jacob Black in the teen vampire "Twilight" films (all PG- 13s, so far) may want to catch him in this contrived and convoluted thriller. If they pay matinee prices, they won't feel too shortchanged, and it's OK fare for most teens. Lautner's acting range hasn't grown much beyond sullen and more sullen, but that works well enough with this story.
