  • Two people were being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail on Sunday after authorities found materials to make methamphetamine inside their car during a traffic stop the night before, according to police documents. Terry W. Dimmett, 40, is facing preliminary charges of manufacturing meth and possession of meth. Stephanie M. Kloc is facing a preliminary charge of possession of meth. Evansville Police Department officers stopped Kloc's 1995 Chevrolet Camaro about 7:15 p.m. near Wedeking Avenue and Stringtown Road after noticing the vehicle's expiration tags were displayed improperly.

  • A man from southern Kanawha County was arrested Wednesday evening for having a quarter-ounce of cocaine, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Jeffrey Allen Carver, 46, of Dry Branch was stopped by a West Virginia State Police officer for driving a red and black 1995 Chevrolet Camaro with an expired sticker, according to the complaint.

  • PATERSON - A police officer is recuperating after being injured Saturday when, authorities say, a motorist ran a stop sign and crashed into the officer's patrol car. Officer Kelly Cary suffered broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and neck and back injuries after being struck at 14th Avenue and East 23rd Street, police said. Cary was traveling west on 14th Avenue and had the right of way when a northbound 1995 Camaro driven by Darlene Horne-Fletcher, 40, of Paterson rolled through the stop sign at East 23rd and apparently tried to beat the oncoming car, police said.

  • EAST MILLINOCKET - Local police will have a new D.A.R.E. car on the road, thanks to a successful asset forfeiture run on a convicted drug dealer, Police Chief Garold Cramp said Monday. The 1995 Ford Explorer is slated to replace a 1986 Chevy Camaro as the East Millinocket Police Department's Drug Abuse Resistance Education car, Cramp said.
